Kletskoek is a lighthearted party game that combines language, creativity, and humor. The idea is simple: one player chooses an unknown word, and the rest come up with a clever, funny, or convincing definition.

The Idea
Kletskoek is based on Balderdash, a classic bluffing game that never got a decent app adaptation, let alone one in Dutch. Seeing how well party game apps like 30 Seconds and Undercover had found their audience, it felt like an obvious gap worth filling.
The concept translates naturally to mobile. One player picks an obscure word that is provided by the app, everyone else invents a definition, and the group tries to spot the real one among the bluffs. Simple to explain, hard to put down, and genuinely funny when someone's fake definition is more convincing than the truth.
The Build
React Native and Expo handle cross-platform delivery on iOS and Android. Firebase Firestore powers the real-time experience. Phase changes, submitted definitions, and scores appear instantly for every player in the room, no polling required.
Word packs live in Firestore, so new content ships without an app update. The game currently supports Dutch and English with locale detection and in-app language switching.
Shipped
Live on the App Store and Google Play. Players are bluffing within seconds of opening the app.
